Online Armor protects your computer's internet connection (inbound connections and outbound connections), stops unknown programs from running and detects keyloggers - plus lots more!. Online Armor is a full security system for your computer, but has been designed to be very easy to use. You can check out it's features in detail by looking at the menu on the left. Online Armor FREE is our powerful windows firewall - the only FREE firewall to offer 100% leak protection out of the box! It's easy to use, powerful - and completely free. Online Armor is straightforward, and simple to use. Online Armor includes powerful "HIPS" functions, which give you the ability to stop all unrecognised programs from running on your computer unless you say so, making it possible to protect yourself against these new attacks. Of course, programs Online Armor knows are safe will be allowed to run, no problem. This is different to a pure Antivirus program - these let any program run, unless they know it is a virus. This means that it must have that that exact threat in its database before it can do anything about it. Your antivirus will completely ignore programs it does not recognise - which unfortunately includes new viruses.

Online Armor Personal Firewall v4.0.0.45:
| Features
Features of Online Armor Personal Firewall:
Online Armor Personal Firewall Features
Online Armor's broad range of features help keep you safe when suring the internet.
Not all features are available in Online Armor Free. For a list of which features
are not included, please check the comparisons page.
Personal Firewall
Online Armor's new personal firewall provides awesome protection from inbound threats and complete control of data leaving your computer for the internet. In standard mode, most decisions are made completely automatically based on Online Armor's whitelist - meaning that you never need answer a complex firewall prompt again.
Autoruns Management
New in Online Armor version 2 - Autoruns management allows you to control which programs start automatically with your computer. This can be used to help defeat spyware (it must start sometime) as well as optimize your computer's performance.
Tamper Protection
Malicious programs are getting tougher and tougher and often attack other programs (including security programs) to do their nasty deeds. Online Armor has a process guard function which guards not only itself against tampering, but protects other programs from malicious code.
Keylogger Detection
Keyloggers are designed to capture keystrokes while users enter personal information such as passwords and account numbers on financial and other secure Web sites. Online Armor protects your passwords and private information from being stolen by blocking the keylogger as it tries to activate. Online Armors behaviour detection ensures that even specially created or new keyloggers are detected and prevented.
Mail Filter
"Phishing" is the name of a scam which uses fake emails and websites to trick users into disclosing personal information. Online Armor checks inbound mail for tricks used by scammers and, depending on the certainty it will warn you or remove the email. The mail filter works with any email client that supports POP3 or IMAP, including Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, The Bat, Incredemail, Eudora and others.
Web Filter
Many websites use tricks to install dangerous software on your computer. The type of software can range from the irritating display of popup advertising, through to software designed to steal information or defraud you. Online Armor inspects every page you visit and checks to see if any dangerous objects are present. If they are, you are alerted and have the opportunity to block them. Online Armor's web filter works with any web browser on your computer? including those embedded in other programs.
Cookie Cutter
Online Armor's "Cookie Cutter" transparently removes "tracking" cookies from sites you visit to guard your privacy. It does this by converts these to harmless "Session" cookies that your web browser will delete at the end of the session. Of course, sites you trust are allowed to store cookies in line with the settings in your chosen web browser.
Prevent Spyware
The program blocker gives you control of which programs are allowed to run on your computer. Known safe programs, such as MS Office will automatically be allowed to run and dangerous programs will give a red warning popup so you can prevent them from running. If a new program is detected, you have the option to allow, block or get more information and you can always change your mind. If you block a program while it is still running, Online Armor will stop it and prevent it running in future.
Remove Spyware
If spyware gets onto your computer? perhaps because you have accidentally allowed it, Online Armor will allow you to remove it. Unwanted extensions to internet explorer can be removed with a mouse-click. Unwanted programs can be blocked with the program blocker, or removed completely (along with all of the files they created).
Settings Monitor
Online Armor will alert you if programs try to change your homepage in Internet Explorer or Firefox. While this is not really much of a security threat, it's an annoyance when it occurs when spyware infects your computer.
IE Extensions
Some spyware installs itself into internet explorer where it can monitor what you type, which sites you visit and even change what you see in the web browser or modify your search results. Online Armor detects a variety of Internet Explorer extensions and lists them. From here, you may easily delete them if desired. If any program attempts to install itself into Internet Explorer, Online Armor will alert you and give you the opportunity to block it.
DNS Checker
For high-value sites you need to protect, such as Online Banking sites Online Armor's DNS Checker ensures you're visiting the site you think you are. It compares the DNS results from your local machine against a trusted third-party server. This stops programs from manipulating your windows settings to misdirect you to fake sites.
Hosts Checker
Similar to the DNS Check, Online Armor checks your HOSTS file and alerts you if anything changes. The hosts file can also be used to make your web browser visit sites other than the one you intended.
Simplicity
Perhaps the best feature of Online Armor is its simplicity. All of the features
work transparently, quietly and with minimum setup and fuss. You don't need
to be a computer expert to use Online Armor.

AS3 Personal Firewall is device designed to prevent outsiders from accessing your network. The unit serves as the single entry point to your network and evaluate all TCP connections requests as they are received comparing them with each rule in the policy. This is advanced easy to use software with ability to watch for all ports on your system without listening. Activity provides a real-time view of the open connections through the firewall. The rules editor is used to define a security policy where connections requests from unauthorized ip addresses and ports are rejected. The log viewer provides data connection notes that can be used for prosecuting the potential attackers. Use the rules editor to specify the destination and service for each rule with the required action. For example, if you don't want someone connecting to your network, you can bar his access by blocking connection request from his ip address or port number. On his end, he see a message that responds "Connection failed" or "Connection terminated". Once defined the firewall provides control of how the policy is distributed to all TCP connections through your network.

StartRight will manage the execution of programs that are automatically started by the operating system at logon time. Instead of executing many programs at once (causing your OS to spit and sputter and attack your hard drive), StartRight will give the OS time to execute the program before running the next program. The OS should become much more responsive almost imediately after logon. Those of you that have a dozen system tray programs (and you know who you are), might want to give this a try.

Kerio Personal Firewall (KPF) helps control how your computer exchanges data with other computers on the Internet or local network. Kerio Personal Firewall is designed to protect any Windows PC that is connected to the Internet using DSL, cable, dial-up, ISDN, WiFi or satellite modems. Potential intruders use various techniques to find out whether a targeted computer is vulnerable to attacks. These techniques vary from simple port scanning to more elaborate exploits. Kerio Personal Firewall has a built-in intrusion prevention system that identifies and blocks both known and unknown attacks. Scanning for sensitive information, blocking pop-up windows, filtering out on-line banner ads, and restricting cookies and spyware programs that track browsing habits are functions of Kerio Personal Firewall that reduce the risk of identity theft and help make surfing the Internet much more pleasant. This program is free for home use. Business and institutional customers are encouraged to download this software for evaluation purposes. Protowall is a lightweight program that runs in the background, taking up little CPU and memory, while blocking thousands of bad IP addresses. In Protowall, all the work is done by the driver that filters each packet, extracts the IP header and then compares the address with the ones in the table, then either discards or permits the packet to pass. The GUI is essentially a "driver instructor" that communicates to the driver the IP list to check against. The GUI also receives notifications from the driver when a packet arrives and when actions are performed with a packet. Protowall Blocks both inbound and outbound packets. Protowall blocks incoming packets from Internet addresses that are on the Bluetack Blacklists. This is handled by another program called the Blocklist Manager. This program finds and retrieves lists of bad IP addresses. They are sorted (overlapping resolved) and then converted to various formats such as Protowall, PeerGuardian & other common applications and firewalls.

Blocklist Manager 2.6.5 beta:
* Unchecking 'Use Listview' in options will allow BLM to use an internal memory array
to process rather than the listview. This is fast and uses little memory.
* Some of the conversions only work when there is a list loaded in the listview,
however, the basic exports work. There is a new menu item 'Array' that has an option
to load the memory array into the listview.
* Performing a find of IP's from the memory array will load the results into the listview.
* Notice there is a 'Clear' menu item now.
Once set up, you can check 'Download on Startup', 'Shutdown when Done',
'Auto Export', and 'Start Minimized in Tray' to have the BLM invisibly process
your predefined lists and outputs, then exit quietly.
Memory Array Processing vs. Listview Processing
* Using the Listview as the central storage for IP Ranges is the original method
by which BLM processed the lists.
With small lists this was faster than merging via cut and paste.
Listview Processing is performed in the following sequence: Loading of Sources
with Duplicate removal, Sorting, Merging/Splitting, then Exporting.
Using the Memory Array is new. By disabling the Listview Processing, much greater
speed and much less memory is used.
Memory Array Processing is performed in the following sequence: Loading of Sources,
Sorting, Duplicate removal/Merging/Splitting, then Exporting.
* Option: Memory Array optimized for up to 327680 Rules
* Option: Process on Startup
* Option: Shutdown when done processing
-- This only happens if there were no errors.
* Tweak: Inclusions/Exclusions Enhanced
-- Added Listview and controls. It's now the BLM Edit feature.
-- Add/Edit/Delete "Personal IP filter" via the Inclusions OR the Exclusions Editors.
* Option: Fill Listview from Array After Processing
-- Automatically populate the Listview after Memory Array processing is complete.
* Fix: IP Range Calculator (Ctrl-C)
* Fix: Bearshare Format
-- Added /255.255.255.255 mask for single IP's
* Fix: WHOIS Project now accepts a Host as well as an IP

Whenever you run a server on your machine, it uses what are called 'ports', which allow other machines to connect to them. Of course, sometimes you're just running them for your own internal use, but there's no easy way to stop someone from accessing the server. AnalogX PortBlocker allows you to basically block the Internet port of most servers, making them unreachable to other computers on the Internet. This program is NOT a Firewall, but it will allow you to run a server that is only available on the local network, and will log any access attempts made by other machines that are attempting to use the blocked interface. By default, PortBlocker is configured to block the most common types of servers that might be on a system (FTP, HTTP, etc), so will not require any modification for most users. If you are running a special server of some sort, then you can easily add it's ports (either TCP or UDP) to it's list, and have them blocked and/or logged.

Filseclab Personal Firewall is a personal firewall that allows you to control which programs can access the Internet and at what times. It offers an automated rules wizard that will prompt you for action whenever an incoming or outgoing connection is detected that does not match any of the existing rule sets. You can then choose to grant or deny access, and automatically create a rule for it. The firewall also allows you to create rules manually and supports rules for applications, intranet, network type and time. In addition to connection filtering, the program also offers browser independent web site access filtering, that allows you to block specified sites or limit access to a list of sites. Additional features include control of ICMP packets, traffic graph display, three security levels and more. The interface is a little small (and a little confusing), but overall, Filseclab Personal Firewall offers some good features.

System Safety Monitor (SSM) is an application-firewalling tool (it is not a "firewall" in traditional understanding, so there shouldn't be any conflicts with your network firewalls). SSM controls which programs are running on your computer and what they are doing. For example, SSM can prevent so called "DLL Injection". Also, SSM will notify you whenever a program you want to start was modified. In addition, SSM can constantly check your registry and alert you, when an important modification was made.
Features :
# Allows you to control which programs and applications can be opened on your computer. Alerts you whenever a program, you want to run was modified.
# Allows you to control calls to some OS functions which is used in "DLL Injection" and Keystroke logging utilities.
# Prevents unauthorized code-injection activity, so no application will be allowed to use another legitimate one for malicious activity.
# Allows you to control which programs are allowed to start other, and wich cannot be started by others. For example, you may allow your browser to be started only by Explorer.exe but not by any other untrusted application.
# Offers a choice of two modes - User and Administrator. In Administrator mode you can set your preferences to control programs. Access to this mode can be protected with an encrypted password to prevent anyone changing your settings. In User mode no changes can be made to your settings.
# Supervises changes to important registry keys when installing new programs.
# Will block or alert on any attempt to change guarded registry keys.
# Allows you to control which programs run at system startup.
# Maintains a list of running applications and allows you to terminate any application immediately.
# Allows you to block specific windows (including websites) from opening.
# Can be set to run automatically on system startup.
