Nullsoft Winamp is a fast, flexible, high-fidelity music player for Windows. Winamp supports MP3, CD, Audiosoft, Audio Explosion, MOD, WAV and other audio formats, custom appearances called skins, plus audio visualization and audio effect plug-ins. Additional features including a new decoder, built-in cross fade, and an advanced Media Library.Winamp 2 + Winamp 3 = Winamp 5 ! Winamp also has many skins available. Skins are revisions of the graphical user interface of Winamp. Winamp 5 has brought many new options for potential skin designers, including alpha channels and docked toolbar. Winamp has a comprehensive software development kit, which allows software developers to add small bits of their own software to the Winamp code. These plug-ins range from general plug-ins (for basic functionality) to music visualization (for sound activated graphics) and also to play other formats (such as Realplayer). Winamp 5.xx comes in two versions, Standard and Pro. The Standard version is freeware, while the Pro version (shareware) offers a slightly richer feature set, primarily with regard to music ripping and CD burning.
